Two energy industry groups recently launched of the Arctic Energy Center, a joint effort to advance greater public understanding of energy development in the American Arctic.
“While the region has been extensively explored and studied for decades, much of that information can be difficult to find. The Center was created to serve as a hub of fact-based research, reports, news and analyses of Arctic energy development,” said Kara Moriarty, President and CEO of AOGA.
The Center will highlight insights and scientific understanding of the Arctic environment, job and resource opportunities for Americans, the national security implications of being an Arctic nation, the long history of exploration and development in the region, and the scientific and technological advancements that allow for safe energy development today.
The project is a joint effort between the Alaska Oil and gas Association and the Independent Petroleum Association of America.
