How the Arctic Ocean Turned Salty

ZME Science reported that it has recently been discovered that the Arctic Ocean was originally a freshwater lake, but has become a saline over Earth’s history. There was a large land bridge between Scotland and Greenland that slowly became submerged over millions of years, and the waters of the North Atlantic Ocean were able to flow freely to the into the Arctic Ocean to create a saltier Arctic Ocean.
